The Power of The Tongue

Text: Num.13:30-33
*Great multitudes of the children of Israel could not set into the land because of their tongue and murmuring against the Lord. Num. 14:21-32, James. 3:3-10
-Pr. 18:21 says “life and death are in the power of the tongue”
*It was their report that settles their judgement before the Lord –Num. 14:22-23.
– Because they said they were unable to posses the land, God refused them the land.
*Your declaration is the root of your manifestation and your life cannot be brighter than your declaration.
-Psm. 34:1”Keep thy tongue from evil and thy lips from speaking guile.”
*Your tongue can either make you or destroy you.
-“what you say is what you will see.”
*Your tomorrow lieth over the usage of your tongue
-Pr.6:2, “thou hast snared with the word of thy mouth and thou hast taken with the word of thy mouth.”

How can I bridle my tongue;
{James 1:26, 1 Pet. 3:10}
let the whole church read this passage
1. You need sanctification- to be sanctified is to set yourself apart, total abstinence from sin and all forms of immorality
2. Guide and train up your heart-
Matt.12:34, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”
-Renew your mind with the word regularly
-When you are word empty you will speak carnally
-Your speech begins from your heart
-Your heart is the controller of your tongue

3. refuse to be a rumor carrier

4. Learn and try to be a man of few words.-Pr. 17:28, Pr. 2:11

5. Don’t say what you know nothing about.- Eccl. 10:11-13

6. Lean to speak positive things to yourself and others.-Eccl.5:6

7. Don’t address people when you are angry.

8. Put yourself into prayer for God to bridle your tongue.
